New Pattern Release :: Sevrine (and Malabrigo Book 12!)

Hello, and happy soon-to-be fall! I’m shaking the dust off my poor, neglected blog to bring you some exciting news right in time for sweater weather.

New Pattern Release!

First, I’d love to introduce my latest pattern release, Sevrine:

Sevrine is a chic pullover featuring a generous cowl neck and mirrored motifs that form a flattering hourglass shape against a reverse stockinette stitch background. The relaxed but feminine fit is timeless and wearable in a variety of settings. This just might become your favorite sweater!

This pullover is knit seamlessly from the top down with simultaneous set-in sleeves. You’ll begin by casting on for a cowl neck sized just right for wearing traditionally or off the shoulder. If a cowl neck is not to your liking, instructions for a shorter, boat neckband are included. After completing the neckline, you’ll shape the sleeve caps, yoke, and armholes at the same time. Once the sleeves are separated from the body, the knitting is smooth sailing, and all you’ll need to complete next are the sleeves—without having to first pick up stitches around the armholes!

This pattern was super fun to design. I’ve always loved cowl neck sweaters—they are a staple in my store-bought sweater wardrobe—so I loved finally including a cowl neck in one of my designs. Of course, while I was knitting the sample, I thought it’d look great with a boat neck too, so the pattern includes instructions for a shorter, boat neckline.

This was also my first time utilizing the simultaneous set-in sleeve method, and I have to say I LOVE it! It was so nice to not have to think about picking up stitches around the armholes and shaping the sleeve caps later. It will definitely be hard to go back to designing set-in sleeve sweaters where that might not be entirely feasible. I know I’ll definitely try to incorporate the technique more often now that I know how amazing it is! :)

I’m super proud of how this sweater came out, and I hope you love it as much as I enjoyed knitting and designing it! Be sure to head on over to Ravelry and check out the photos of my testers’ gorgeous projects, too!

25% Off Fall Sale

To celebrate the release of Sevrine, I’m having a fall sale on Ravelry! From now through October 1, 2018, you’ll get 25% off any of my other self-published patterns when you purchase Sevrine. Patterns do not need to be purchased at the same time within the sale period. You will receive the discount on other patterns automatically as long as you purchase Sevrine first or in the same order, with the same Ravelry account. Details are also outlined on the pattern page.

Other Exciting News

I’m super thrilled to announce that Malabrigo Book 12: Elements, published just last month, features another new sweater design of mine! The book hasn’t been uploaded to Ravelry yet, but you can see a preview of my pattern here. And here’s me giddily holding the book!
